INTERNATIONAL (PROBABLY) - Cornwall & Devon

The *International*, near Muse Rock, is one of those wrecks that just oozes history, despite the rather uninspired name. We love exploring the remains of this brigantine, which went down in 1908. It’s not a huge wreck, sitting at a maximum of 17 metres, making it accessible for most divers. You’ll find the timbers are well broken up, but the overall shape of the vessel is still discernible, especially the bow section which often has a good smattering of jewel anemones catching the light. This is proper UK diving: green, moody, and full of life if you slow down and look. Conger eels are often tucked into the deeper crevices, and the wreck acts as an apartment block for wrasse and pollock. The *International* is a fantastic choice for divers who appreciate the story behind the metal and wood, not just the intactness of a wreck. It’s a dive that rewards careful inspection and an appreciation for the undersea history of the Channel.
