L C ANDERSON - Cornwall & Devon

The L.C. Anderson isn’t just a wreck; it’s a proper time capsule, sitting pretty at 40 metres. We love how intact she is, considering she was bombed in 1917. You can still make out the cargo holds, the engine room, and even the stern gun platform. It’s a great deep dive for those comfortable with the depth and a bit of current. Swimming over the deck, you’ll spot conger eels poking out from every nook and cranny, their heads like grumpy old men. Around the superstructure, vast schools of pollock swirl, reflecting the limited light that filters down. Our favourite part is dropping into one of the cargo holds; the feeling of history is palpable, and the resident crabs scuttling away add a touch of drama. The visibility here can be excellent on a good day, but it’s always worth checking the tides for the slack water window – trust us, it makes a huge difference to the enjoyment. This is a dive for those who appreciate history and a bit of a challenge, a proper Cornish wreck dive.
