LA VAGUE - Cornwall & Devon

La Vague isn't about depth, it's about history right under the surface. At a mere two metres, this old trawler, sunk in 1915, feels incredibly accessible. We love how the shallow depth lets sunlight really penetrate, illuminating the wreck’s skeletal remains and bringing out the colours of the algae and anemones that cling to it. You’ll spend time examining the details, tracing the outline of what was once a working ship. The wreck itself is scattered, but you can still make out the boiler and parts of the engine. It’s a fantastic site for new divers, or anyone who enjoys extended bottom time without decompression limits. Our favourite way to dive it is to take it slow, really looking into every crevice for blennies, crabs, and the occasional curious wrasse. Visibility can be a bit variable, as it often is in British waters, but on a good day, the outline of the hull against the sandy seabed is surprisingly clear. Bring a macro lens if you have one, there's plenty to focus on.
