LADY NON (POSSIBLY) - Cornwall & Devon

Okay, so the Lady Non. A bit of a cheeky dive, this one. We’ve always found it a great little spot for a relaxed potter, especially if you’re new to UK wreck diving or just fancy something shallow. She went down in ‘84, a small sailing vessel, and while she’s only 6.7m long, she’s become a fantastic miniature habitat. You’ll find her sitting upright in about 8m of water, which means plenty of bottom time and often decent light penetration, even on a cloudy day. Our favourite part is the sheer amount of life that has moved in. Spend some time peering into the nooks and crannies of her wooden hull; we’ve spotted everything from curious velvet swimming crabs to impressively camouflaged gobies. Ling often lurk underneath, and sometimes even a small conger eel will peek out. It’s a proper macro playground, excellent for photographers wanting to practice on static subjects. The wreck itself is fairly intact for its size, offering some nice structure to navigate around. We always recommend going at slack tide for the easiest dive, as currents can pick up a bit in the area, but even a gentle drift can be fun if you’re comfortable. She's a perfect second dive or a tranquil standalone if you’re after something less demanding but still full of character.
