LCT 757 (POSSIBLY) - Cornwall & Devon

The LCT 757, or what we strongly suspect is her, offers a deep, moody dive that’s quintessential UK wreck hunting. Dropping down to 58 metres, you’ll find a substantial frame lying flat on the seabed, her profile still very much that of a landing craft. We love tracing the distinct outline of her bow ramps, imagining the vehicles she would have carried. This isn't a dive for the faint of heart, or indeed, the inexperienced; you’ll want proper deep-diving credentials and a cool head. The low light at depth, even on a sunny day, gives everything a blue-grey cast. We've found conger eels tucked into every available crevice, their heads peeking out of the gloom, and sometimes a solitary anglerfish camouflaged against the plating. The wreck is steadily collapsing, but there are still sections of superstructure and cargo hold worth exploring for those with the training to do so safely. Expect cold water, even in summer, but the rewards are a tangible piece of history and some seriously impressive resident marine life.
