LCT 875 - Cornwall & Devon

The LCT 875, resting at 40 metres, is a serious dive for those who appreciate history with their bottom time. We love the palpable sense of its past; this landing craft was sunk by E-boats just after D-Day, and you can almost feel the chaos of that night. The wreck itself is substantial, over 50 metres long, and while much of the superstructure is gone, the sheer scale of the hull is impressive. We often find conger eels peering from dark recesses, their eyes glinting in the torch beam, and the plates are thick with dead man's fingers. Our favourite time to dive it is on a calm, overcast day, when the light filters down, creating an eerie, atmospheric glow. Expect cold water, of course, but the visibility can be surprisingly good, making the LCT 875 a compelling, deep exploration for experienced wreck divers. You'll spend your dive tracing the outlines of a vessel caught in a pivotal moment, now home to all sorts of temperate water life.
