LE GUILLEMOT - Cornwall & Devon

Le Guillemot is our kind of wreck dive, a real character tucked away off the Cornish coast. Dropping down to 35 metres, you’ll find the fishing vessel sitting upright and largely intact. It's not a massive wreck, only 12.5 metres long, but that just means you can really get to know it in a single dive without feeling rushed. We love exploring the wheelhouse, still standing proud, and the stern where the propeller blades often catch the light, even on a cloudier day. What makes Le Guillemot special, though, isn't just the wreck itself, but how nature has claimed it. Expect to see schools of pollack darting through the superstructure, sometimes so thick they obscure parts of the deck. Conger eels often peek out from behind bent plates, and the current brings in plenty of nudibranchs, clinging to the hull. This site is perfect for those who enjoy a deeper dive with a good opportunity for penetration if you're qualified and the conditions are right. For the best visibility, we always suggest aiming for slack tide on a neap tide – it makes a real difference down there.
