LE NORD - Cornwall & Devon

Le Nord, for us, is a total charmer, a proper shallow wreck that often gets overlooked. Dropping down onto her at just four metres, you’re straight into the action. She’s not some grand, intact vessel, mind you, but more of a scattered jigsaw puzzle of a steamship, lost way back in 1904. We love how the sea has truly reclaimed her. What you'll find here is a jumble of twisted metal and plates, all softened by the kelp and an explosion of jewel anemones. The light filters through the green water beautifully, making everything glow a bit. Keep your eyes peeled amongst the wreckage for the resident wrasse and pollock darting about. It’s an ideal spot for a long, relaxed dive, especially if you're into photography or just fancy pottering around a piece of history without the pressure of depth. Our favourite way to dive Le Nord is on a calm, sunny day when visibility is decent – the colours really pop then.
