LST 314 - Cornwall & Devon

The LST 314 is a proper historical leviathan sitting off the coast, a landing craft sunk in 1944. Dropping down to 49 metres, this isn't a dive for the faint of heart, but it’s incredibly rewarding. We love how massive she is, nearly 120 metres long, sprawling across the seabed. You can spend an entire dive just exploring a fraction of her. What really gets us about the 314 is the scale and the way she's become a home. The hull is draped in dead man's fingers and anemones, and you’ll find conger eels tucked into every dark crevice. Our favourite sections are the bow and stern, where the structure is most intact and the light plays best through the gaps, illuminating schools of pout and bib. Look out for huge spider crabs scuttling across the deck plates. This wreck feels incredibly atmospheric, a real sense of history down there. It’s perfect for experienced deep divers who appreciate a substantial wreck and don't mind the chill of the Channel. We'd suggest picking a slack tide for the best conditions, as currents can be a pain.
