LUCIFER - Cornwall & Devon

Now, Lucifer. What a name for a wreck, eh? This escort vessel sits in the depths off Cornwall, a proper dive for those who love their history with a side of gloom. We’ve been down here when the visibility’s been a bit moody, which honestly, just adds to the atmosphere. You drop down, and the hull gradually emerges from the murk, dark and imposing. It’s got that classic British wreck feel, a bit silty, a bit cold, but utterly captivating. What we love about Lucifer is how intact parts of it remain. You can still make out the superstructure, the ghostly outlines of where men once worked. It’s not just a pile of rubble; there’s character here. Shoals of bib and pouting will dart through the companionways, and we’ve often seen conger eels poking their heads out from deeper recesses. It’s a dive for those who appreciate the narrative of a wreck, not just the pretty fish. We’d suggest a good dive light to really pick out the details, and maybe a thicker drysuit than you think you need. It’s a chilly embrace down there, but a rewarding one.
