LUNAN - Cornwall & Devon

The Lunan, off the Cornish coast, is a wreck dive that really puts a knot in your stomach when you think about her history. Sunk in 1941, likely by a German mine, five men went down with her. Today, she's broken up, but you can still pick out the big stuff – the impressive three-cylinder triple-expansion engine and a single boiler really stand out. It's only 6 metres deep, making it a good spot for newer divers to explore a piece of wartime history without deep decompression limits. We’ve seen conger eels tucked into the machinery and plenty of pollack swimming through the skeletal remains. She's a poignant reminder of the war at sea, with plenty of nooks and crannies for curious eyes.
