MANIFOUR - Cornwall & Devon

The Manifour barge, driven ashore in '77, offers a stark reminder of the sea’s power, tucked right up against the cliffs. We love it because it’s so accessible. You find it almost on the beach, making it a perfect easy dive when the weather's calm and the tide is right. What you're really diving here is a skeleton. The bow and stern sections are the most intact, forming broken, angular shapes that contrast with the smooth sand. Over the years, the wreck has become a solid home for critters. Look close and you'll spot crabs scuttling into crevices and colourful anemones swaying gently from rusted metal plates. The water here can be a bit silty, but on a good day, the light filters down, illuminating the ghostly outline of the hull. It’s a great spot for newer divers looking for a first wreck experience without the depth, or for anyone wanting a relaxed poke around a piece of history.
