MARJOLENE - Cornwall & Devon

The Marjolene isn't your average trawler wreck. Down at 58 metres, she's a serious dive, one we'd only recommend for experienced technical divers who are comfortable with the depth and potential for strong currents. When conditions align, though, she really delivers. We love the Marjolene for her intactness. She sits upright, largely whole, with a ghostly presence that really makes you feel like you've stumbled upon a sunken time capsule. You can still make out the outline of her bridge, the deck machinery, and even the stern gear. We’ve had dives there where the visibility was just good enough to see the whole bow emerge from the gloom, a really striking sight. What truly makes her shine, though, is the marine life – she’s smothered in plumose anemones, their white tentacles swaying in the current, creating a stark contrast against the dark metal. Ling often lurk in the deeper sections, and conger eels are usually tucked into any crevice you can find. It’s a proper expedition, and when you surface, you feel like you've genuinely achieved something special.
