MARTINE JEAN PAUL - Cornwall & Devon

The *Martine Jean Paul* is a deep dive, no two ways about it. Dropping to 59 meters, this fishing vessel sits upright and largely intact, making it a compelling target for experienced wreck divers. We love the way she’s been colonised by the local fauna. The wheelhouse is a particular highlight, often swarming with pollack, and we’ve seen some seriously large conger eels tucked into her holds. What makes her special? For us, it’s the sense of scale and the challenge. The sheer depth means careful planning is essential, but the rewards are there. On a good visibility day – and you need good visibility to appreciate her fully – the structure emerges from the blue, a ghostly silhouette that just keeps revealing more detail as you descend. Look for the net-covered sections, where lobsters often shelter. This isn’t a dive for the faint of heart or the inexperienced; it’s a site that demands respect and solid technical skills, but if you’re up to it, she’s one of our favourite deep wrecks in the area.
