MILLMER - Cornwall & Devon

The Millmer isn't a deep dive, sitting at a comfortable 12 metres, but it offers a surprisingly atmospheric experience. This old sailing vessel met its end by fire in 1981, and what's left is a wonderfully jumbled, skeletal remains spread across the seabed. We love how the fire warped the structure, creating interesting nooks and crannies to poke into. You'll spend your time here weaving through rusted ribs and around splintered timbers, watching for the resident wrasse and blennies that have made this their home. It’s a great site for photographers keen on capturing the interplay of natural light and decaying steel. Dive this one on a calm day; the visibility can be a bit variable, but even with a slight murk, the eerie silhouette of the wreck still shines through. Keep an eye out for the small conger eels often tucked away deep within the wreck's darker recesses.
