MV Robert - Cornwall & Devon

The MV Robert, sitting off the Cornish coast, is one of those wrecks that just keeps giving. We love it for its sheer size and the way the local marine life has completely taken over. You're descending onto a proper steel beast, broken but still largely intact, and the visibility can actually be surprisingly good here, especially in late summer. Swimming along the deck, you’ll spot huge conger eels peering from every dark recess, their heads thick as your arm. There are always plump lobsters tucked into the plating too, and often some impressive schools of bib and pollack hanging around the superstructure. For us, the highlight is exploring the stern, where the prop shaft housing offers some fantastic swim-throughs, just wide enough for a careful fin. We'd suggest hitting this site on a slack tide for the best chance to really take your time and poke into all the nooks and crannies. It's a proper adventure, perfect for experienced wreck divers looking for a bit of British history beneath the waves.
