NEREE (PROBABLY) - Cornwall & Devon

The NEREE (PROBABLY) wreck in Cornwall and Devon is one of those dives that sticks with you. Dropping down to 49 metres, you’re often met with that classic UK green gloom, but then the shape of the sailing vessel starts to emerge. It’s remarkably intact for its age, a real dive back in time. We love picking out the details of her rigging plates and the line of the deck, imagining her under sail. This isn’t a rummage dive; it’s more about appreciating the structure itself. The light often filters through in eerie shafts, highlighting schools of bib and pollack darting between the timbers. Look closely in the nooks and crannies for resident conger eels, they’re usually pretty chilled here. We’d suggest diving this one on a slack tide, otherwise, that current can really rip. It’s a dive for those who appreciate maritime history and don’t mind a bit of depth, perfect for experienced wreck enthusiasts.
