OSMUNDA - Cornwall & Devon

Osmunda isn't about grand scale, and that’s precisely what we love about it. This small yacht, sunk in '54, sits in an almost impossibly shallow 5 metres. You're barely below the surface, but it’s a proper little time capsule down there. We've spent hours poking around, finding details we missed on previous dives. It’s an ideal spot for an easy second dive, or for honing your photography skills. Visibility can be decent, especially on a calm day, and the ambient light truly transforms the wreck. You'll see the skeletal ribs of the hull, almost silhouetted against the surface shimmer. Look closely and you’ll find nudibranchs clinging to the metal, tiny crabs scuttling in the nooks, and shoals of juvenile pollack weaving through the frames. For us, it’s the sheer accessibility and the feeling of diving a piece of history so close to the surface that makes Osmunda a standout. It’s a gentle introduction to wreck diving, or just a peaceful way to spend an hour underwater.
