RECLEZ - Cornwall & Devon

The Reclez isn’t just another sunken yacht, it's a testament to the sea's reclaiming power, lying deep at 58 metres. We love the dramatic story of her demise: a sudden fire, a Mayday call, and then, silence. Dropping down, you feel the chill of the thermocline bite, but the reward is a spectacularly intact hull, eerily still after nearly 50 years. We often find ourselves drawn to the stern, where the prop shaft still points defiantly towards the surface. Keep an eye out for conger eels, they’ve made a cosy home in the engine room, and the bow section often has some surprisingly large pollack darting through the superstructure. Visibility here can be hit or miss, typical for the Channel, but on a good day, the light penetrating the upper decks creates an almost ethereal glow. This is a dive for experienced technical divers, pure and simple, a rewarding deep penetration into maritime history.
