With 176+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and ocean sunfish (mola mola) - ROMARIN offers some of Cornwall & Devon's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 10-18°C, warmest July, August, September.
The Romarin, a yacht that went down after a run-in with a Dutch tanker back in '68, offers a moody dive at 34 metres. It’s a good one for advanced divers comfortable with depth and potentially limited visibility, which is pretty standard for the English Channel. The wreck itself is a jumble of metal, broken up enough to allow for some interesting swim-throughs if you're careful, but nothing too tight. We’ve spotted conger eels tucked into crevices and decent-sized pollack patrolling the superstructure, along with the usual crabs and anemones making a home of the hull. It’s not a showstopper, but it’s a solid wreck dive with a bit of history.
