SPARKLING FOAM - Cornwall & Devon

The *Sparkling Foam* wreck, a sailing vessel sunk by a U-boat in 1918, lies in about 34 metres, a decent depth for those with some experience in UK waters. What we particularly like about her is the way the structure, though broken, still gives you a real sense of a sailing ship. You can often pick out the mast base and ribs, which have become a pretty good home for crabs and various small fish. Visibility here can swing a bit, but on a good day, the light plays nicely over the wreckage, giving it a quiet, almost reverent feel. It’s a dive for appreciating a piece of history, rather than a blast of colour, and we think it offers a solid exploration for advanced open water divers who enjoy a bit of history with their dive.
