    StandoutExceptional marine biodiversity

The St Brandan, a steamship, sits at 39 meters off the coast of Cornwall. This is a dive for experienced wreck enthusiasts; the site is classified as dangerous, which tells you a lot about its condition and the potential hazards. What’s left of the ship provides a good home for the usual suspects: conger eels peering from dark corners, schools of pollack circling the superstructure, and a surprising amount of plumose anemones clinging to metalwork. We’ve found the stern section to be the most interesting, with some impressive machinery still identifiable, even if it’s pretty broken up. Expect cold water and plan your deco, but it’s a solid deep wreck for those who appreciate history and a bit of a challenge.
