The Ster de Zee, what remains of her, is a decent dive for those with the appropriate training. Dropping down to 60 metres, this isn't one for the casual explorer. She was a trawler, sunk by a mine back in 1942, and while she's classified as non-dangerous, that deep, cold water certainly commands respect. We’ve found her pretty broken up over the years, but the remaining sections of hull are home to plenty of conger eels and squat lobsters tucked into the crevices. You’ll also spot good numbers of wrasse flitting amongst the metalwork, a common sight on these older wrecks. Visibility in this part of Cornwall can vary wildly, so pick your day carefully; a slack tide is a must.
