TINA ANNE - Cornwall & Devon

The Tina Anne is exactly the sort of Cornish wreck we love: a proper, honest little fishing vessel that went down in 1985. At only 7.9 metres, she’s not huge, but what she lacks in size, she makes up for in character and accessibility. Sitting upright in 22 metres, she’s perfect for divers looking for a leisurely potter, without the crushing depth of some of the bigger ships out here. When we drop in, the first thing we notice is the kelp. It sways around the wheelhouse, creating a beautiful, dappled light as you approach. We’ve often found conger eels tucked into the engine room, and the nooks and crannies are packed with lobsters and crabs. Look closely, and you’ll spot colourful jewel anemones coating the metalwork. Our favourite part is peeking into the small cabin; it really makes you think about the lads who worked this boat. We suggest going on a slack tide for the best visibility; a little current can really kick up the silt here.
