TRACYS DAWN - Cornwall & Devon

We love a good wreck, even a shallow one. Tracys Dawn, a 15-meter yacht that went down in 1985, sits right there on the rocks, visible at low tide. It’s barely a dive, more of a snorkel, but it offers a unique, almost melancholic experience. The hull is well broken up, scattered across the seafloor in a way that feels like a natural extension of the rocks. You’re really only in about three meters of water, but that doesn't stop the life from finding a home. We’ve seen blennies darting in and out of the rusted metal, small wrasse picking at algae, and anemones clinging to every surface. It’s a site that tells a story, the metal groaning softly as the surge pushes and pulls. Our favourite time to visit is on a calm, sunny day when the light penetrates right to the bottom, illuminating the twisted remains. It’s perfect for snorkelers or freedivers, or even just a quick look if you're in the area. A truly raw, exposed piece of history.
