TREVESSA - Cornwall & Devon

The Trevessa is a proper Cornish wreck, a fishing trawler that went down while under tow back in ‘73. She now sits upright in just 10 metres of water, an ideal depth for less experienced wreck divers or those wanting a longer bottom time. We love how light floods the wreck, even on an overcast day, really bringing out the colour of the jewel anemones that carpet her hull. What makes her a standout for us isn’t just the easy access, but the sheer amount of life she holds. Spider crabs are everywhere, scuttling over the decking, and you’ll find plenty of conger eels tucked into the darker recesses. Look closely for dogfish eggs secured to the railings, like little mermaid’s purses. It’s an easy dive, often with decent visibility by UK standards, making it one of our favourite shallow wrecks in the area. We’d suggest going at slack tide to avoid any current, which can pick up a bit, though it’s never overwhelming.
