U 1063 - Cornwall & Devon

The U-1063 offers that deep, dark, proper wreck diving experience we’re always chasing in the UK. At 58 metres, this is a serious dive, one for experienced technical teams ready for the conditions off Cornwall. Dropping down, the visibility often closes in, making that moment the wreck looms into view feel genuinely dramatic. She sits upright and mostly intact on the seabed, a massive shape materialising from the gloom. We love exploring the conning tower, imagining the watchkeepers scanning the Atlantic. You can still see the torpedo tubes, a chilling reminder of her purpose. Over the decades, the wreck has become a home, with conger eels peering from every dark opening and jewel anemones adding splashes of colour to the corroded metal. Keep an eye out for the big anglerfish often camouflaged against the hull – they’re masters of disguise down there. This isn’t a quick splash; it's a dive that demands respect, but the rewards are immense. The U-1063 is a powerful, historic site, perfect for those who appreciate deep wrecks and the stories they tell.
