U 678 (POSSIBLY) - Cornwall & Devon

Alright, let's talk about the U-678, or what we strongly suspect is the U-678, off the coast of Cornwall. This isn't a casual dip; at 60 metres, it's a deep wreck dive for experienced technical divers. Dropping down, you hit the bow first, then the immense hull stretches out, largely intact and sitting upright. What we love about this site is the sheer scale and the history you can almost feel. You'll see the conning tower still identifiable, even after all these years. Schools of pollack dart in and out of the torpedo tubes, and massive conger eels have claimed the inner compartments as their own. We'd suggest checking the tides carefully, as currents can pick up. On a good day, with decent visibility, exploring the deck guns and the remains of the anti-aircraft platform is absolutely our favourite part. It’s a somber, impressive dive, a real journey into the past, suitable for those who appreciate wrecks with a story and the skills to safely explore it.
