YMS 350 (PROBABLY) - Cornwall & Devon

There’s something about a minesweeper that just *feels* right for a dive in these waters, and the YMS 350 delivers. This isn't some deep, dark behemoth. At just 14 metres, it’s an accessible wreck that still manages to feel like a proper historical dive. We love that it’s essentially a giant, broken-up metal reef now, with the original structure providing nooks and crannies for everything from plump conger eels to those surprisingly colourful jewel anemones that cling to the gloomier bits. What you get here is a sense of history, but also a thriving habitat. You'll find yourself drifting over plating and ribs, then dipping down to peek into what might have been an engine room, now home to clouds of juvenile pollack. It suits divers who appreciate a wreck for its character, not just its size, and it’s a site we’d recommend for a relaxed afternoon exploring, perhaps even with a bit of a current push to add some drama. Keep an eye out for dogfish tucked under the larger sections. They're surprisingly common.
