ASTRA - Scottish West Coast

The Astra is a trawler, a solid 22 meters long, that went down in 2000. She lies upright at 57 meters on a silty seabed, her mast still reaching towards the surface. We've found her deckhouse largely intact, and the stern section is particularly interesting for a poke around. While the wreck itself is the main draw for technical divers, the resident wrasse and squat lobsters have made themselves comfortable in the wheelhouse, adding some life to the structure. It’s a good, deep dive, best for those with some wreck experience and the appropriate gas.
