AURA - Scottish West Coast

The Aura, a brigantine that went down in 1877, is a shallow dive, barely touching 2 metres deep off the south end of Holy Island. What’s left of her is pretty distributed, but that’s part of the charm. You’ll spend your time sifting through the remains, finding timbers and plates that hint at her former shape. It’s not about penetration here, it’s about discovery, and the lobsters and crabs have certainly made themselves at home among the wreckage. This site is ideal for snorkelers or new divers looking for a gentle introduction to wreck diving, with plenty of time to explore without worrying about depth or complex navigation.
