Carrick Castle - Scottish West Coast

Carrick Castle offers a surprisingly engaging shore dive, especially if you catch it on a calm day. The max depth of 11m makes for a relaxed bottom time, letting you really comb the kelp beds and rocky nooks. We often find plenty of crabs, small wrasse, and sometimes a curious dogfish poking about. It's an intermediate spot, mainly because shore entries on the West Coast can be a bit challenging, but once you're in, it’s a gentle meander around the castle ruins. Perfect for a second dive of the day or when you're after something a bit less demanding.
