FV INSHALLAH - Scottish West Coast

The FV Inshallah might not be the biggest wreck on the Scottish West Coast, but we love its character. This compact 8.1-meter fishing vessel, which went down in 2017, sits upright at 60 meters, making it a proper technical dive. As you descend, the ambient light fades fast, giving way to the loom of your torch, picking out the outline of the wheelhouse and a mast still reaching skyward. It’s small enough to explore thoroughly, even with decompression obligations, and we’ve found the stern particularly interesting, with its propeller and rudder still intact. Keep an eye out for conger eels tucked into the hold, and the occasional inquisitive ling cruising past. This is a site for experienced trimix divers comfortable with deep water and minimal ambient light, offering a wonderfully intact glimpse into a recent piece of maritime history.
