GENERAL CONSUL ELISSEJEFFE - Scottish West Coast

The *General Consul Elissejeffe* isn't a deep dive, sitting at just 12 metres, but it offers a surprisingly rich experience off the east coast of Coll. We love this wreck because it’s a proper piece of history, grounded back in 1914, and you can really feel that sense of age. It's not one of those massive freighters you get lost in; instead, it's a manageable exploration of a steamship, broken up but still recognisable. Visibility here can swing, as it does across the Scottish West Coast, so we’d suggest aiming for a calm day with an incoming tide for the best chance of clear water. What you’ll find is the metalwork encrusted with plumose anemones, often swaying gently in the current, and lobsters peeking out from beneath plates of steel. Schools of pollack often cruise above the wreck, their silver scales flashing when the light hits them just right through the green water. It's a fantastic site for newer wreck divers or anyone who appreciates the quieter beauty of a historical vessel slowly being reclaimed by the sea.
