JANET - Scottish West Coast

The Janet, a 12.2m fishing vessel, ran aground in 1977 and now rests in relatively shallow water off the Scottish West Coast. We find her largely intact, a skeletal frame that’s become home to a surprising amount of local marine life. You can poke around the superstructure, which still offers decent shelter for crabs and small schooling fish. It’s a good shallow exploration dive, perfect for extending bottom time or for those newer to wreck diving who want to get a feel for a solid structure without significant depth or penetration. Visibility can be typical for the area, so we often aim for slack tide to make the most of it.
