STAR OF PROMISE - Scottish West Coast

The Star of Promise, a fishing vessel that ran aground in 1984, offers a surprisingly engaging dive on Scotland's west coast. Though the depth is shallow, the wreck itself provides plenty of character. You'll find it fairly broken up in places, but key sections of the hull and superstructure are still identifiable, giving you a real sense of its past. We’ve seen quite a few crabs tucked into crevices here, and nudibranchs often graze on the algal growth covering the metal. It’s a great site for divers keen on exploring a piece of local history without going deep, and it’s especially good for photography practice.
