STRUMA - Scottish West Coast

The Struma, sunk in a collision back in '77, rests upright in 35 metres, about 5 miles southwest of Mallaig. It's a fishing vessel, and you can still make out the stern and parts of the wheelhouse. The wreck itself isn't huge, but it's well colonised by plumose anemones and dead man's fingers, giving it a good splash of colour even in the often-murky Scottish water. We've seen plenty of wrasse darting in and out of the structure, and it’s a good spot for spotting ling if you take your time. It’s a decent dive for those who appreciate history and don't mind a bit of a low-visibility challenge.
