SUTHERNESS - Scottish West Coast

The trawler *Sutherness*, sunk in 1961, rests upright at 47 metres, a solid chunk of history on the seabed. We often find the visibility here can be a bit of a lottery, but on a good day, the outline of the vessel is clear enough for a decent explore. Her deck structures are still largely intact, offering swim-throughs into what would have been the wheelhouse and crew quarters, now home to plump wrasse and squat lobsters tucked into every crevice. It’s a dive for those comfortable with deeper wrecks and the colder water, rewarding patience with a tangible connection to the working history of these waters.
