WESTWIND - Scottish West Coast

The Westwind, an 8.5m fishing vessel, isn't a massive wreck, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in character. Sunk in 1992, it’s a relatively intact little fishing boat, sitting upright on the seabed at 30m. We love the way the deckhouse feels like you're peeking into a forgotten world. You can easily swim around the entire structure, spotting dogfish tucked into the sand nearby, and the whole thing is absolutely smothered in plumose anemones – pure white, almost glowing against the darker steel. Our favourite part is the stern, where the prop is still visible, often surrounded by curious wrasse. This site is brilliant for divers who appreciate smaller, more intimate wrecks that offer a glimpse into a working boat's final moments. It's a surprisingly photogenic little spot, especially on a bright day when the light catches the anemones.
