Wreck of Aarla - Scottish West Coast

The Aarla isn't your pristine, coral-encrusted tropical wreck. This is a proper, cold-water dive, and we absolutely love it for that. She sits in the murky, green embrace of the Scottish West Coast, and that low visibility is actually part of her charm. It forces you to get close, to feel the cold steel loom out of the gloom. We've spent dives just trying to trace her outline, feeling the hull plates through thick gloves. Look for the resident conger eels, huge things that make their homes in the deeper sections. The deck structures are starting to collapse, but there are still plenty of swim-throughs for the adventurous. It's a dive that demands respect for the conditions and rewards you with a genuinely atmospheric experience. Don't expect bright colours; expect history, mystery, and a good dose of Scottish grit. Bring a powerful torch and your drysuit for this one.
