Wreck of Angela - Scottish West Coast

The Angela is one of those wrecks that just keeps giving, even on a grey Scottish day. We love how much of her you can still piece together – the bow sits upright, almost defiant, while the stern is a jumble of collapsed plates. You’ll spend most of your dive playing hide-and-seek with the resident wrasse and pollack, darting in and out of the hold openings, which are surprisingly intact. We’d suggest a good torch, not just for peering into the dark corners, but to really bring out the colours of the anemones and dead man’s fingers that smother almost every surface. It’s a proper rummage, perfect for divers who enjoy exploring a wreck’s nooks and crannies rather than just swimming over it. Keep an eye out for conger eels tucked away in the deeper sections, they’re almost always there.
