Wreck of Assyria - Scottish West Coast

Diving the Assyria isn't about tropical fish and neon corals; it's about history, cold water, and the quiet thrill of a true wreck dive. We love this site for its sheer scale and the way it’s settled into the seabed. Dropping down, you’ll find the wreck is remarkably intact, certainly considering its age and location. The stern section, in particular, always grabs our attention, with the prop shaft still clearly visible. Look closely, and you’ll spot plumose anemones clinging to every surface, their white fronds waving in the gentle surge, and plenty of wrasse darting in and out of the broken plating. It’s a dive that rewards slow exploration, letting the story of the vessel unfold around you. This one suits divers who appreciate a proper wreck, not just a pile of rubble, and aren't put off by cooler temperatures and the sometimes moody Scottish light.
