Wreck of Bondja - Scottish West Coast

Diving the *Bondja* is a proper adventure, the kind that feels miles away from the usual tropical routine. This isn't a wreck you just stumble across; it demands a bit of effort, often with a sturdy RIB bouncing over the Scottish swell. Once you drop onto her though, the reward is immense. We love how atmospheric it feels, a true ghost ship resting on the seabed, usually shrouded in that distinct green light only found in these northern waters. The *Bondja* herself is a fantastic explore. She’s broken, but in a way that creates fascinating swim-throughs and pockets of shelter. Look for the engine room, often silhouetted against the ambient light, and the distinctive bow structure. We’ve had incredible encounters here – massive conger eels peering from dark recesses, their eyes reflecting your torch beam, and clouds of saithe swirling over the deck plates. It’s definitely one for drysuit-trained divers comfortable with limited visibility and a good sense of navigation. Our favourite dives here are on a slack tide, giving you ample time to really pick through the details, imagining the ship’s final moments. Bring a good torch, a keen eye, and an appreciation for history submerged.
