Wreck of Bounteous - Scottish West Coast

The Wreck of Bounteous isn't one of those wrecks sitting in balmy, shallow water. No, this is proper Scottish wreck diving: moody, atmospheric, and utterly captivating for those who appreciate history and a bit of a chill. We love the feeling of descent here, dropping through that emerald green water, the light fading until the ghostly outline of the trawler appears. It's a proper wreck to explore, the bow still proud, the stern broken but with plenty of nooks and crannies to poke into. Look for the resident conger eels, they're often peeking out from behind plating, and the anemones here are surprisingly colourful, clinging to every rivet and beam. It's a dive that rewards slow exploration, letting your eyes adjust to the low light and soaking in the silence. We'd suggest a good dive light to really pick out the details, and remember that Scottish water means a drysuit is practically a given. Come prepared for a proper adventure, not a coral garden, and you'll be well rewarded.
