Wreck of Castle Green - Scottish West Coast

The Castle Green offers a proper taste of Scottish wreck diving, often with that distinctive emerald hue to the water. We love this site because it’s not just a pile of metal; it feels like an actual ship, still holding its shape on the seabed. You can really get a sense of its past, especially poking around the bow section where a lot of the structure remains. Visibility can be hit or miss, as it often is up here, but when it’s good, it’s a stunner. Expect to find plenty of squat lobsters tucked into every crevice, plus the usual suspects like blennies and small wrasse darting between the plates. It’s a great dive for those with some cold water experience, maybe not your very first wreck, but certainly one to build confidence on. We’d suggest a strong torch; it makes all the difference in bringing out the colours and highlighting the nooks. Plus, the resident conger eels often peek out from the deeper sections, adding a bit of thrill. The Castle Green delivers an authentic West Coast wreck experience.
