Wreck of Clansman - Scottish West Coast

We love the *Clansman* for its sheer, moody presence. Dropping onto the bridge, you immediately feel the weight of its history, a merchant vessel now firmly claimed by the Scottish West Coast. The visibility here can be a bit of a lottery, often a particulate green, but that only adds to the atmosphere as you navigate the superstructure. You’ll find squat lobsters tucked into every crevice, and the stern, especially, is thick with plumose anemones, their white tentacles swaying like a ghostly choir in the current. We’d suggest a dive on a slack tide to properly appreciate the engine room penetration, which is our favourite part; it's tight but rewarding, revealing much of the ship's machinery. This is a dive for those who appreciate wrecks with a story, not just coral. Bring a good torch and be prepared for that bracing Scottish chill.
