Wreck of Dispatch - Scottish West Coast

The Dispatch wreck, off Scotland’s west coast, isn't your usual sun-drenched dive. This is proper temperate water diving, where the character of the wreck and the sheer life it attracts take centre stage. We love a good wreck, and this one delivers with its upright bow and stern sections, creating real drama as you descend through the green light. You'll navigate through tight swim-throughs in the midsection, where the beams are collapsing in on themselves, creating fantastic hideouts for conger eels and squat lobsters. Our favourite part is the engine room, which is surprisingly intact, offering a glimpse into the ship's past. Look closely and you'll spot nudibranchs, often the jewel anemones clinging to the metalwork. This site suits divers comfortable with colder water and decent buoyancy, ready to explore a piece of maritime history that’s become a thriving artificial reef.
