Wreck of Earl Lennox - Scottish West Coast

The Earl Lennox, sitting upright and surprisingly intact on the seabed, feels like a proper deep dive into maritime history. We love how the hull is still largely complete, the deck collapsing gently in places, offering plenty of swim-throughs if you're comfortable with overhead environments. Keep an eye out for the resident conger eels, they're often peeking from behind twisted metal, and the occasional dogfish patrols the deck. It’s a site that really rewards careful exploration, perfect for divers who appreciate the story behind the wreck as much as the diving itself. We’d suggest a good torch is essential down here, pulling out details like the ship’s bell or the anchor chain, which are often just visible in the gloom. The site is exposed, so pick your day carefully; calmer seas make the surface interval much more enjoyable.
