Wreck of Emildor - Scottish West Coast

The Emildor isn’t one of those wrecks that jumps out at you, intact and proud. She’s broken, very broken, scattered across the seabed like a child’s dropped toy. We dove her on a calm day, and even then the current gave us a good push around. What we love about the Emildor, though, is the sheer resilience of life here. Crabs, the big edible kind, scuttle in every nook. Nudibranchs, bright flashes of orange and purple, cling to plating that looks like it could crumble at a touch. You’ll find all sorts of lost fishing gear draped over the structure, a reminder of the working seas. It’s a dive for those who enjoy picking through history’s bones, piecing together the story of a vessel from its scattered remains. Bring a good torch and keep an eye out for the small stuff, because that’s where the real magic of this site lies.
