Wreck of Glen Holme - Scottish West Coast

Diving the Glen Holme is a proper adventure, the kind that makes you feel like a real wreck explorer. She sits upright, pretty much intact, a ghost of a cargo ship from another era. We love drifting along her deck, imagining the last moments before she went down, and poking into the holds, which are often packed with squat lobsters eyeing you suspiciously from the shadows. The wheelhouse is a highlight, still recognisable and feeling incredibly atmospheric, especially when the light filters down through the kelp forest above. This isn't a dive for coral fanatics, obviously, but if you appreciate history, the eerie quiet of a sunken ship, and plenty of feisty little crabs and blennies making homes in the twisted metal, you’ll be in your element. For us, it’s one of the best wreck dives in Scotland, offering that perfect blend of history and surprisingly vibrant temperate water life. Just be ready for that distinct chill of the North Atlantic, even in summer.
